I (Kelsey) used to be a producer for film and television with a passion for wine. My ‘happy place’ became wine country where I’d travel as much as possible in between films. I loved getting together with my friends after a crazy week of work and sharing a glass of wine. I was given the opportunity to take a couple of years off work when we had to move to California for my husband’s job for 2 years. He’s a helicopter pilot who does fire fighting which is the double meaning in “Flights”. I worked at a wine shop and fell in love with studying wine. I completed my Certified Sommelier, WSET level 3 and Certified Specialist of Wine before we opened Flights in November of 2021. We’re coming up on 2 years!
My hope for Flights is to create a warm, welcoming and comfortable space for people to explore the world of wine. I tried to create the place I always longed for, to drink good wine with good friends. We strive to educate people that would like to learn more, while being approachable and welcoming – drink what you like!
I love sharing wines from all of the world and pairing it with our food. Having a full restaurant menu was really important to me because I think wine and food just make each other better and you need both.
